Please reach us at if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We encourage our clients not to cancel on us as we have big waiting lists and can not ensure how quickly you will get back in. If you need to cancel our cancellation policy is 7 days prior to check-in for your FARMSTAY Respite Care or 48 hours prior to your FARMPLAY Day Program. In the event you do not show up for a booking and are not contactable you will still be billed for your service in full.
Yes, our Farmstay Disability Respite is an overnight program and the minimum age for a participant is 5 years old. However, from time to time we can support family groups with younger children requiring emergency respite from foster care. The minimum age limit for foster care respite is assessed on a case by case basis. We can accept family groups with newborns and babies subject to carers and availability.
K&C Farmstays have their own NDIS qualified carers that are police checked, working with children checked and first aid trained. We take great efforts to match the right carers with the right participants. So in most cases a parent or carer can not stay with the participant during the program. However, on occasion family groups are welcome to stay. Reach out to us to find out more.
Most of our clients have a plan managed or self managed NDIS Plan. We will need to check the participants plan prior to booking to ensure it is funded appropriately and that we can meet the clients needs. Please be aware NDIS funded participants staying for respite/STA need to have it specifically approved in their NDIS plan and by their COS prior to their stay.
Privately paid visits and DCJ funded respite visits are also possible. Reach out and we can provide a quote upon request.
Inclusivity is extremely important to us, however, given the new farm set up, not all areas are accessible by wheel chair for a stay longer than 2 nights. The cottage and pool and farm areas are wheelchair accessible, however, there is a step up the shower. This will be rectified as time and budget allows.
We will need to assess everyone's needs on an individual basis to ensure that our clients receive the safest and best care.
Currently our Cottage bathroom is accessible for wheel chairs, however, we currently do not have overnight friendly accommodation with shower facilities or hoists that some people will need.
At K&C Farmstays, we prioritise open communication and transparency to ensure parents and guardians feel connected while their loved ones are staying with us. Here’s how we keep you informed:
These measures are designed to provide peace of mind and keep parents and guardians informed throughout the respite stay.
We provide all meals and snacks for participants during their respite stay at the farm. Before their first visit, we request a list of foods the participant likes or dislikes, including any allergies or dietary restrictions. Once we receive this information, we ensure that our cottage is stocked with food tailored to meet the participant’s needs and preferences. This allows us to provide meals that are both safe, healthy and enjoyable for every participant.
